- LOCATION: Choose your own location or alternatively my go to venue is at Halesowen Town Hall. The Town Hall offers some office, industrial and outdoor options. The location is a short bus journey away from Birmingham city centre

If you are planning to have your showreel scene filmed at Halesowen Town Hall, upon arrival I will likely have the camera and lighting set up but there will be slight tweaks as the shoot progresses. There will also be a short time to rehearse the scene upon arrival. Please bring refreshments with you as I can't guarantee the location provides such services but there are shops nearby.   

 

The environment will be relaxed and supportive but I advise you to have your script learnt so there will be plenty of time to capture multiple takes and the right amount of angles which is usually 2 per actor. Sometimes 1 angle each can work just fine especially for intense scenes where a close up is all that is required to keep the intensity of the scene going. 

 

IMPORTANT AREAS TO CONSIDER

The scenes I have written are typically 1-2 minutes in length and the required time on location is usually 2 hours.

Filming specialist scenes such as action orientated scenes or longer scenes will take longer to film and might incorporate more angles. Some of the scenes shown on my website are longer specialist scenes which took up to 4 hours to film. If choosing your own outdoor location please make sure it is quiet and we have permission to film there. Travel charges might be added to any locations outside of Birmingham and the West Midlands.
